Coat Sizing Diagram

Please follow sizing instructions carefully: Exceptions for returns may be due to sewing defects or non-conformance tailoring errors. Possible factory defects must be noted within 10 days after receipt of the coat garment.

  1. Measurement Guideline – Use a soft fabric tailor’s tape or strip out a long piece of 1” wide newspaper; joined with scotch tape, if a tailors tape is not available.
    1. Base of Neck to Tail – This is the most important dimension. THIS IS THE MOST CRITICAL MEASUREMENT. (Follow instructions carefully)
Start this measurement at the base of the dog’s neck between the two collar bones – NOT AT THE COLLAR & NOT FROM ANY PART OF THE NECK! Raise the dog’s neck and find the 2 collar bones at the base of the neck above the front legs. Place the tape measure from between the collar bones to the start of the tail. Lift the dog’s tail to find where the tail starts. The start of the tail is approximately 1” – 2” in back of the dog’s rear. (Refer to the measurement chart to see if your measurement triangulates with the girth, neck & weight suggestions) The coat will be a custom size; if your measurements are outside the suggested measurements.
    2. Girth – Measure around the dog’s body approximately 1” – 2” behind the front legs.
    3. Neck – Measure around the neck where the collar normally sits.
    4. Head – If the dog’s head is larger than the neck - we will need this measurement. Measure starting from one ear, under the neck and wrap the tape up over the head behind the ears to the starting place at the ear.
    5. Weight – Approximate weight
    6. Breed & Gender – List breed and Male or Female. This is important. We match coat linings and snoods with the gender.

OPTIONAL SIZING & HELP:

  1. Chest Width – (Applies to dogs sized for X-Large and some large size coats) we need to know if your dog has a chest measurement greater than 9” across the chest. Take this measurement under the neck across the largest muscle area at both front legs.
  2. Dogs with “Upright” tails – A tail notch will be furnished for dogs with upright tails.
  3. METRIC CONVERSION - Inches or foot to metric measurement sizing will be provided upon request.
  4. Customer Service Help Desk – Please contact us for any questions on coat measurements or coat ordering help during regular business hours. M-F 9:00AM – 6:00PM Pacific time zone - 253-661-2905.
