DOG COAT, COLLAR & OTHER APPAREL SIZING GUIDELINE
GENERAL INFORMATION:

HOW TO MEASURE:
We recommend a “seamstress type fabric tape ruler” (available at any fabric store).
- If a seamstress tape ruler is not available for measuring; we suggest cutting an approximate 1 inch wide long strip from newspaper or pattern paper. Make the strip of paper long enough to measure the dog’s length and around the girth and neck. Mark the appropriate dimensions on the paper strip with a “Sharpie Pen”. Use a regular tape rule for compiling the actual measurements along the strip of paper. Use Inch measurements in the USA. We will convert metric sizing for other countries.
SIZING DETAILS (see images above for visual description):
- Base of Neck to Start of Tail - Start at the collar bone area (Collar bones are located at the base of the neck). Measure a straight line to the start of the tail. This is generally 1” to 2” from the end of the dog dependent on the size and weight of dog.
- Girth - Measure 1” to 2” in back of the front legs. Optionally, where the girth area of the dog's body size is largest.
- Neck - Measure around the neck just above the base of neck. This is where the collar normally sits. (Same as when sizing a collar)
- Head - List only if the dog’s head is larger than the neck. (All coats, including collars; must fit over the head)
